Home Improvement Program (HIP)
Grants of up to $10,000 for repairs to the main structure of an Eastern Shawnee member’s primary home, or improvements based on medical necessity, once every 10 years. The program is not income-based; it is based on the home’s structural, safety and sanitary needs, and documented emergency repairs get priority. Recipients sign a note to repay a declining amount if the home is sold within 10 years.
