The program places particular emphasis on serving American Indians "who have problems with alcohol or substance dependency, diabetes, physical, learning, and/or mental disabilities." Its primary focus is competitive, integrated employment, and "The participant must be actively engaged in the process of securing employment through the VR Program." Services are based on available funds and each Individualized Plan of Employment is tailored to the consumer, so may not include every listed service.

Where it's available

The program page states its service area twice, and the two lists do not match — the conflict is recorded rather than resolved. The mission paragraph describes "a nine county area in Oklahoma, i.e.…Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Stephens, and Tillman Counties," while the eligibility section requires the participant to "reside within the service area of the Comanche Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program, which includes Comanche, Caddo, Grady, Kiowa, Stephens, Jefferson, Cotton, Tillman, Jackson, and Washita counties" — ten counties, adding Washita. Confirm your county with the program before applying.
