Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma · FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Tribal Hardship Assistance Program
Up to $750 once per fiscal year per household for extreme financial hardship from a narrowly defined event: medical bills over 10% of household income in the past 30 days, vandalism or a home emergency (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) costing $750 or more that makes the home unlivable, involuntary job loss within 90 days, a major self-employment income loss, unemployment from court-ordered confinement, or homelessness caused by financial hardship.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
The policy (September 2025) states: "Applicant must be enrolled and possess a Tribal membership card from the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma," be at least 18 (or legally emancipated), or have legal custody of a tribal member. Each event has its own proof (for example household income and medical bills, a police report filed within 7 days, a licensed contractor's estimate, or an employer layoff letter). The program "will serve the neediest of the needy Tribal families who have no other source of funding."
