OKCIC Purchased/Referred Care (PRC)
IHS-funded program that pays for health care services from non-IHS providers when OKCIC cannot provide the needed service directly. Benefit coordinators help patients navigate the application and approval process. Funding is subject to federal appropriations and is not guaranteed. Note: members of some tribes (e.g., Chickasaw, Sac and Fox) must use their own tribe’s PRC office rather than OKCIC’s.
Who's eligible
IHS-Eligible
Active OKCIC patient of American Indian or Alaska Native descent. Tribal affiliation determines which PRC office handles the referral — verify before applying. Funds are limited and subject to federal appropriations. For emergencies, call 911 first then notify PRC within 72 hours. (Source: okcic.com/purchase-referred-care/)
