Adult Vocational Training Program (Tribal Members)
Financial assistance for full-time training that leads to a job or trade skill and gainful employment, at a nationally or state-accredited (the application says regionally accredited) training center. The program “promotes opportunities for self-determination and self-sufficiency.” Training may not exceed 24 months. Recipients must report schedule changes and submit grades after each term or risk suspension.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma members (other Native Americans living in the Kickapoo jurisdiction have a separate need-based path, entered as its own row). The applicant must be unskilled — in need of training to obtain reasonable employment, or under-employed — and at least 18 (the page says 16 and the application 17 for high school graduates or GED recipients). Required: updated enrollment card or CDIB, high school transcript/diploma or GED, birth certificate or driver's license, Social Security card, proof of residency, school records, the class schedule or enrollment agreement, and a Financial Needs Analysis form completed by the school.
