Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma · CHILD CARE
Indian Child Welfare (ICW) and Foster Care & Adoption
Supportive family services to prevent child maltreatment and keep families together. When Ottawa children are placed in foster care, ICW works with DHS and other providers toward safe reunification, and supports adoptive families. The tribe is also developing a foster care program so tribal members can be certified through the tribe as foster or adoptive parents for Native American children.
Who's eligible

The ICWA page describes services for "Ottawa children" and their families. The Foster Care & Adoption page says the program in development "will enable tribal members to become legally certified through the tribe to open their homes as foster/adoptive parents to Native American children"; interested members begin by submitting an application to the ICW department.
