KNES Youth Summer Camp
Summer camp at the Kaw Nation Community Building with STEM activities, games, field trips, culture, and community connection. The 2026 camp ran June 8-12 for ages 4-7 and June 22-26 for ages 8-12. KNES also describes summer camps for students in 1st through 12th grade.
Who's eligible
Any Enrolled Tribal Member Geographic
KNES states plainly: "KNES programs are available to any enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe within our service area" — Kaw Nation citizenship is not required. Programs are for Pre-K through 12th grade students enrolled in public schools within the Kaw Nation service area who are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe.
Where it's offered
County
The KNES page gives two different answers and both are reported here. Its "WHAT AREAS DO WE COVER?" section lists five towns — Blackwell, Kildare, Newkirk, Peckham, and Ponca City — while the About section says KNES exists "to serve the people of the Kaw Nation and Native Americans in Kay County." All five towns are in Kay County, but a five-town list is narrower than the county, so no structured county area is attached — confirm your address with KNES at (580) 749-5420.
Location:
Kaw Nation Community Building, Kaw City, OK 74641
How to apply
Apply through the summer camp form linked from the KNES page when the session opens, or contact KNES at (580) 749-5420. Sessions are split by age — the 2026 camp ran June 8-12 for ages 4-7 and June 22-26 for ages 8-12 — so confirm the current year's dates and age bands.
