Kiowa Housing Authority Storm Shelter Installation
Storm shelter installation for tribal homeowners. A complete application is placed on the KTHA waiting list by the date and time the application and required documents were received; allow 30 days for an eligibility determination. After the determination letter the applicant must update their information every six months or the file is closed and they must re-apply.

Any Enrolled Tribal Member Income Based
The packet requires a "Tribal I.D. or proof of Tribal enrollment for Head of Household or Spouse," so enrollment in any federally recognized tribe satisfies it. The applicant must own the home — a deed showing ownership is required, along with proof of current property taxes unless the home is on trust property, and a current utility bill in the applicant's name. All household members age 18 and over need income verification or a notarized statement of zero income. Returning the packet does not guarantee a storm shelter.

Download the Storm Shelter Application from the Housing page and complete it in full, leaving no empty boxes — KTHA will not accept incomplete applications and all documents must be submitted with the application. Required for each household member: driver's license, state ID, or birth certificate for adults, birth certificates for minors, Social Security cards, tribal ID or proof of enrollment for the head of household or spouse, marriage documentation, proof of guardianship if applicable, the deed, proof of current property taxes unless the home is on trust property, a current utility bill in the applicant's name, and current proof of income.
