Kiowa Housing Authority Major and Minor Home Rehabilitation
Major and minor home rehabilitation and repairs for tribal homeowners. Approved Major Home Rehab applicants must invest 2% of the cost of the work out of pocket — on $25,000 of work, a $500 contribution — but elderly, veteran, and disabled families are not required to contribute. Complete applications go on the KTHA waiting list by the date and time received; allow 30 days for an eligibility determination, and update information yearly to stay active.
Who's eligible
Any Enrolled Tribal Member Income Based
The packet requires a "Tribal I.D. or proof of Tribal enrollment for Head of Household or Spouse," so enrollment in any federally recognized tribe satisfies it — Kiowa members receive preference on the waiting list. The applicant must own the home: a deed showing ownership, proof of current property taxes, and a current utility bill in the applicant's name are required, plus home insurance for Major Home Rehab. All household members age 18 and over need income verification or a notarized statement of zero income.
