Comanche Nation · FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Youth Services School Clothing Assistance
A gift card for back-to-school clothing and school supplies for Comanche-enrolled students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. One application per household per school year; the amount varies with funding.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
Published eligibility: "Student(s) must be enrolled with the Comanche Nation. Pending enrollment will not be accepted"; "Student(s) must be enrolled in public, homeschool, private, charter, or boarding school"; "Student(s) must be enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten (turning 4 on or before September 1st) through 12th grade"; and "Students older than 19 years will not receive assistance." Homeschool students must submit current-year curriculum receipts, or a letter on official letterhead if schooled through an online charter or virtual academy. The applicant must be the legal or custodial parent, legal guardian, or caseworker at the time of submission, and a new application — one per household — must be filed each school year. Required documents per student: proof of Comanche Nation membership (CDIB), a report card from the previous school year (a progress report, award or class schedule is accepted for middle and high school students), and legal custody documents if applicable and not previously submitted. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Assistance comes as a designated clothing store gift card or a Visa gift card; lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced and valid ID is required at pickup. Gift cards may not be used for consumable items, gas, cell phones, phone cards, game cards, music cards, makeup, body sprays or colognes, purses, jewellery or accessories, or alcohol, tobacco, drugs or paraphernalia. Receipts must be returned by 1 June; failure disqualifies the applicant from future assistance, and non-compliant purchases totalling $25 or more disqualify the student the following year.
