Emergency Management Disaster Assistance
All-hazard emergency help for Comanche members: up to $1,000 if a house fire, tornado, flood or hurricane destroys the home or renders it uninhabitable, up to $1,500 for emergency tree removal, plus loaned generators, loaned heating and cooling units, bottled water during boil orders, and sandbags during flooding.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
The CNG guidelines (Resolution 156-2026, revised 23 June 2026) state eligibility as: "Must be an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation Tribe"; "There are no jurisdictional boundaries"; "Emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis"; and "In a declared federal/state disaster, no one is turned away." Published limits: Emergency Disaster Assistance "up to $1,000.00 but will not exceed this amount," with hotel stays and lodging not provided; Emergency Tree Removal "available for up to $1,500.00." Generators are loaned first-come first-served and must be returned once power is restored, with elders and those on electrical medical devices given top priority; loss of power must be four or more hours or involve medical equipment. A/C units and heaters are loaned and must be returned. Bottled water is capped at four cases and sandbags at 15 per household, more at the Emergency Manager’s discretion. Tree removal is limited to limbs hanging dangerously low, fallen within 50 feet of the home or outbuildings, or blocking entry to the home or property; staff will not climb dwellings or ladders, cut limbs near power lines, or perform landscaping, and the program does not assist with home repairs or utilities. A liability waiver is required for tree limb work. Supporting documents are proof of residency, a written request for services, a CDIB, photographs of the damage, and a fire marshal’s report or disaster report as applicable. The guidelines ask applicants to also contact their local Red Cross for immediate assistance.
Where it's offered
Nationwide
The CNG guidelines state outright under eligibility: "There are no jurisdictional boundaries." The tree removal section adds that "Assistance can be provided anywhere for Comanche tribal members, within reasonable distance of traveling" — a travel-distance caveat that applies to the physical tree work, not to the program as a whole.
