Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Help with emergency heating and cooling costs for tribal members who live in the tribe’s five-county service area, meet income guidelines and have not already received LIHEAP from the State of Oklahoma.
Who's eligible
Any Enrolled Tribal Member Income Based Geographic
The About Social Services page states: "This program is designed for eligible tribal members to assist with emergency heating and cooling costs. Tribal members must reside in the five (5) county service areas, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Kiowa, and Tillman counties, meet income guidelines, and have not received assistance from the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services." Note the page says "tribal members" without restricting to Comanche members, unlike the BIA General Assistance program described immediately below it on the same page, which specifies "enrolled Comanche Tribal members." The income guidelines themselves are not published on the page. The prohibition on having also received state DHS assistance is a hard bar.
