Repair and Weatherization Program — Over HUD Income

Funding allocated by the Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board (Resolution #31-912-2022-09) to help homeowners repair, replace and renovate their primary residences to address health and safety concerns and maintain habitability. It is aimed at homeowners who did not qualify for the ARPA Homeowners Weatherization and Repairs program because their household income exceeded HUD income guidelines. Allowable repairs include metal roof replacement, window replacement, insulation, siding, flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures, exterior doors, and furnaces or hot water heaters. Projects are approved first-come, first-served and limited to available funding.

Eligible applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Fort Peck Reservation and "must be a fully enrolled member of the Fort Peck Tribes Assiniboine and Sioux Tribe." Other household members do not need to be enrolled — only the homeowner-applicant. Applicants must provide ownership documentation (deed, bill of sale, or title) in their own name; a deed shared with anyone other than a spouse is not accepted, and land ownership alone does not qualify. Bills of sale must be notarized and state the address. All household income must be provided, and the applicant must demonstrate a need for rehabilitation or repair. The home must be the applicant's primary residence — no repairs for sub-rented or unoccupied houses. Repairs already funded through a COVID-19 related program with the Fort Peck Housing Authority are excluded.
