Kiowa Direct Employment Assistance (DEA)
A one-time payment of up to $250 for Kiowa members who have obtained new, full-time permanent employment, paid before the first full paycheck arrives. It is intended for transportation, uniforms, supplies, equipment, meals, and household bills while starting the job.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
The portal lists cumulative requirements: 18 years or older, enrolled Kiowa, "Live within the Jurisdiction," and must not have received the first full paycheck. The job must be full time (32 or more hours) and permanent, not seasonal or temporary. Under BIA guidelines at 25 CFR 26.6, 26.7 and 26.15 an applicant may apply through only one funding source — an applicant will be denied if the same need was already met through another program such as WIOA.
Where it's offered
Regional
Restricted to the tribe's approved service area, which neither source names. The department page says DEA serves members "who seek and obtain new, full-time permanent employment within the approved tribal service area, which is a geographical area designated and approved by a tribal nation and/or BIA for service delivery," and the portal requires the applicant to live within the Jurisdiction. The Career Development department's six-county WIOA map is a different program's boundary. Ask the Kiowa Education Agency which counties apply.
