Kiowa Youth Career Development Program
WIOA-funded work experience and short-term training for tribal youth, run as a six-week summer session plus a year-round program youth can qualify for. Participants receive incentives. The 2026 summer session ran June 22 through July 30, with packet pick-up June 12, orientation June 16-17 (drug testing, paperwork, a food handlers license and CSP certification, and a highway safety exercise), and a mandatory Kiowa Work Day on June 20.
Who's eligible
Any Enrolled Tribal Member
Open to enrolled members of ANY federally recognized tribe aged 16 to 24 — not Kiowa citizens only. Applicants must reside in one of the six jurisdiction counties and submit a complete application with all supporting documents: driver's license, birth certificate, Social Security card or voter registration, CDIB, a utility bill or postmarked mail, and income verification. The pre-screening form records employment barriers, in-school or out-of-school status, labor status, and household public assistance, and states that these barriers count toward approval. The director makes the final eligibility determination.
Where it's offered
County
Caddo, Kiowa, Jackson, Tillman, Harmon, and Greer counties, Oklahoma — the six-county jurisdiction the department publishes on its jurisdiction map for both the adult and youth programs. Applicants must reside in one of them.
Location:
208 Hardee Street West, Anadarko, OK 73005
How to apply
Start with the Youth Career Development Program application posted on the Career Development page, but note that it is a pre-screen: the document states "this document is not the actual application required for successful completion of the intake process," and that completing it does not automatically determine eligibility — a client determined eligible must then supply the required documents. An applicant under 18 needs a parent or guardian signature. The summer session dates are printed on the form. Phone 405-648-0876 (the youth form lists 405-648-0446) or email CareerDevelopment@kiowatribe.org for the current cycle.
