College Student Housing Assistance Program
Pays up to $2,500 a semester toward a full-time college student’s housing costs — only housing, no other expenses — in one lump sum to the college (on-campus) or the landlord (off-campus). Limited to eight semesters. Applications are accepted only during each semester’s window: fall August 1–31, 2026 and spring January 1–31, 2027. Late, incomplete or emergency applications are not accepted. Awards depend on available funds.

The application guidelines say the applicant "must be a member of a federally recognized tribe. Preference will be given to United Keetoowah Band tribal members," and "priority will be given to United Keetoowah Band exclusive tribal members." Its required-documents list, however, asks for a "copy of current UKB Membership Card" — members of other tribes should confirm before applying. Household income must be at or below 80% of median income as set by HUD (family income limits effective April 15, 2025: 1 person $58,352; 2 $66,688; 3 $75,024; 4 $83,360; 5 $90,029; 6 $96,698; 7 $103,366; 8 $110,035), and the primary residence must be within the UKB jurisdictional boundaries. Full-time enrollment at an accredited school (12+ credit hours undergraduate, 9+ graduate) and a 2.0 grade point average are required. Independent-student status requires filing your own tax return and a separate household for the prior 12 months.
