Jíwere-Nút’achi Language Service Scholarship Incentive
An incentive paid on top of the Otoe-Missouria Higher Education Scholarship for completing Jíwere-Nút’achi language service hours. Recipients earn $75 for every 4 hours of language service, up to $300 for 16 hours per fall, spring, and summer semester.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
Open to Otoe-Missouria Higher Education Scholarship recipients — the incentive is an addition to that scholarship, so its eligibility rules apply. Recipients earn $75 for every 4 hours of Jíwere-Nút'achi language service completed, up to a total of $300 for 16 hours per fall, spring, and summer semester. Incentive payments are disbursed on verification of completed hours in increments of 4, 8, 12, and 16 hours. Qualifying activities include learning, teaching, creating educational materials, and organizing events that promote or preserve the language.
Where it's offered
Nationwide
No residency requirement is published. Language classes have been offered online, and eligibility keys on enrollment in the Otoe-Missouria Tribe rather than where the student lives.
