Otoe-Missouria Tribe · HOUSING
Housing Repairs
Financial assistance for repairs to the basic necessary functions of a tribal member’s home, up to a lifetime maximum of $10,000 per member. Storm shelter expenses are allowable within that cap. Cosmetic repairs and expansion projects are not covered.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
Open to Otoe-Missouria tribal members who are homeowners aged 18 and over, who have marketable title in their own name and physically occupy the home as their primary residence. The maximum for any home and member is $10,000 in total, regardless of how many homes the member requests assistance for. This is a one-time program in the sense that members may draw on it until the maximum is exhausted; applications may not be combined to repair the same home. The member must not have received any money from the Tribal Homebuyer Assistance Program at any time, and must be current on all outstanding debts owed to the Otoe-Missouria Tribe or tribal entities. Repairs must be necessary to the basic function of the home — the program specifically excludes garage doors and openers, fences, driveways, gutters, paint, landscaping, porches, and ceiling fans. Members may be reimbursed up to $500 one time for emergency repairs affecting health, safety, and welfare. A home that previously received repairs under this program is not eligible for additional repairs by a new owner for five years.
Where it's offered

No residency requirement is published. Eligibility keys on tribal membership and on holding marketable title to the occupied home, rather than on where that home is.
