The program page states the sentenced adult must meet two criteria: "Be assessed or diagnosed as having a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorder"; and "Either sentenced to and serving at least one month in a correctional facility, jail/prison/detention center, or be on probation/parole and be at risk of being reincarcerated in a correctional facility, due to a probation/parole violation." Its stated purpose is "to expand substance use disorder treatment and related recovery and reentry services to sentenced adults in the criminal justice system with a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders, who are returning to their families and community following a period of incarceration in state and local facilities, including prisons, jails, or detention centers." Notably, unlike the tribally funded Reintegration Program alongside it, the published criteria for Adult Reentry do NOT state a tribal membership requirement — but the page does not say the program is open to non-Natives either, so confirm with the program. "The Adult Reentry Program will not pay fines, court costs, probation fees, restitution, legal fees, or any other court-related costs."
Where it's offered
County
The program page states: "The service area is Comanche, Kiowa, Tillman, Cotton, Caddo, Stephens, and Jefferson counties." Seven counties, but not the same seven as the tribe’s jurisdictional area — this list includes Jefferson and excludes Grady.
