Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes · FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Tribal Credit Short Term Loan
Short term loans made by the Fort Peck Tribes Credit Department to enrolled members, secured by assignment of trust property and power to lease, or by payroll deduction for a wage loan. The application records a loan limit of $4,000 and a maximum of four loans per applicant. Approval is by the tribal credit committee and is subject to availability of funds.
Who's eligible
Tribal Citizens Only
The application collects the applicant's Fort Peck enrollment number, and the credit committee's disapproval reasons on the form include "Non-Enrollee (Applicant or Co-signer)" — so both the applicant and any co-signer must be enrolled. Other listed disapproval reasons include insufficient trust income, no IIM sheet, exceeding the $4,000 loan limit, delinquent short or long term loans, obligated trust income on a present loan, being at the four-loan limit, an incomplete 90-day probation, and not being a permanent employee (for wage loans). Due dates proposed by the applicant cannot be guaranteed by the credit committee unless the request includes a proper explanation.
