Who's eligible
Any Enrolled Tribal Member
The Elderly Center states: "The CNEC Title VI Program is a program with the specific intent to provide services to all federally recognized tribal elders 60 and above." Noon meals are served Monday through Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. "Meals are available to eligible participants without regard to income, race, religion, sex or handicap," though priority goes to "those with the greatest economic and social needs such as low-income, isolated, frail and/or impaired Elders." Participants must submit an updated application annually, mandatory every October. Home-delivered meals additionally require a Homebound Certification signed by a physician stating the medical condition preventing the elder from leaving home and for how long; that certification must also be resubmitted each October. Recipients must be home to accept deliveries or provide an insulated cooler; if meals are returned for disposal two consecutive days without notice, deliveries cease and the elder must reapply.
